As the name suggests, the hotel is located in the Port Dorèe area, far enough from the crowded Paris city center, but absolutely well connected via the Metro 8, which can be taken in the overlooking metro station (really, I don't overstate saying 10 steps from the hotel door!). The breakfast is good, offering mixed viennoiserie, breads, orange juice, and coffee. It's mostly sweet oriented but good quality! The staff is very friendly, ready for asking to all your questions. The rooms were very clean, we had a triple and a double room to the first floor, and they were very comfortable and well furnished. The only partially negative point is due to some vibration from the metro station to the first floors' rooms... But nothing so hard to deal with if you are used to live in an apartment building! To conclude, I recommend this hotel for your next Paris tour, especially for the metro 8, the friendly staff and for the impeccable cleanliness!

My opinion - beds are very comfortable. Shower is great. However, the rooms are freezing for November. The noise is absolutely atrocious - no soundproof at all, you can hear people outside - cars driving past. Everything. And the Metro, wow!! Located right underneath the hotel and honestly when you read reviews saying "It vibrates the room" please take note and don't think it's over dramatic - because it's true! They stop at around 1am and start again at 5am. I stayed for three nights and had around 12 hours sleep.

A really beautiful hotel that has the amazing vintage Paris vibe we were looking for. It's old but nicely renovated, and clean. The staff is very friendly and would go out of their way to help customers. The rooms are tidied up daily. The bathrooms are modern, and comfortable and have everything you might need for your stay. We really loved the breakfast - while there wasn't a large variety of things, it was quality over quantity - boiled organic eggs, tasty croissants and pain au chocolates, cereal, cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, organic milk, the tastiest yogurt we've ever had, fresh fruits, delicious coffee, great cappuccino that you could also get in a to-go cup for your morning walk down the beautiful street in front of the hotel. The neighborhood is full of restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and plenty of nice and beautiful streets to walk. There's also a metro station right in front of the hotel from where you can explore Paris. It wasn't a big issue for us, but the convenience of having a metro station less than 50m from the hotel comes at the cost of hearing/feeling every train that arrives. I can totally see someone who sleeps very lightly having some issue with that, but most people wouldn't mind it. Honestly, it sounded more like there is a mild storm outside which some would even find soothing...while others not so much.

Very reasonably priced rooms. Very comfortable bed. I always worry about hotel beds because I have back and hip pain. No sleeping problems at all. Great location next to a metro station and bus stops. Great Japanese restaurant nearby called Ayama and very close to a really good boulangerie. Will definitely consider this hotel again.

The staff members at the Hotel de La Porte Dorée are outstanding, kind and professional. All the people we met, the receptionists, the breakfast staff, and the room cleaners, fulfilled our every request and contributed to making our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast is good: little choice of food, but selected and of quality. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas is impeccable. However, I would not recommend this hotel for light sleepers. The subway is right under the building and when it passes, the noise and vibrations are very strong. My husband and I are quite heavy sleepers so we didn't suffer from this inconvenience. But we realize that, for some, it can be a major problem.
